I want to quickly walk you through my experience setting up the BCan 550lb rebounder (mini trampoline). If you’re into video I’d highly recommend watching this as it’ll likely make your process much easier to see it rather than read. But if you love to read, then keep on keeping on my friend.

What's in the Box?

Right out of the box, this rebounder looked straightforward. I really appreciate how the bulk of the rebounder was already assembled. There are absolutely zero pieces that are involved in putting together the frame. You just unfold it and get to work.

There was also a QR code for assembly instructions included in the box which was super helpful. I prefer to have video over reading the steps on paper so that’s a win in my column.

The Setup Process: Step-by-Step

1. The One Frame Piece

There are two metal pieces that slid through a hole on two sides of the frame. They were super easy to attach, and lock in.

2. Attaching the Bungees

I had to watch the instructional video a few times to make sure I did the bungees right. This would be an impossible task without the tool they provided to perfectly stretch the bungee across the two sides of the frame.

You slide the side of the bungee with tape on it into the clip side, and then use the tool to pull it around the frame side and drop it back down onto the same clip the bungee started in.

One tip: I did notice it got tougher to stretch the bungees when you get to the last 4 or 5 since by then you’re working against the tension of the other side of bungees.

Total Time for Bungees (One Person): 14 minutes.

3. Attaching the Legs

Next, I tackled the legs. There are protective caps on the part of the frame where the legs attach. I appreciate that because some products you get out of the box, they weren’t protected and get damaged in transit which makes the whole thing completely unusable. So this is awesome.

Screwing the legs on was simple, taking around four minutes with the help of a second person. The process was straightforward and right away they feel super stable.

Total Time for Legs (Two People): 4 minutes.

4. Securing the Cover

The cover was the final piece to put in place, designed to protect the user from the bungees during workouts. It was a little confusing, though—the elastic loops seemed slightly off in spacing. While it wasn’t perfectly aligned with the legs, we managed to get it snugly over the frame. It did the job, even if the fit wasn’t flawless. I don’t know if they’re supposed to line up better or not. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Final weird thing in this line of thought: the cover and I suppose the bungees as well seemed to be a little off center once we completed assembly. It wasn’t so bad it would’ve bothered me, but I also figured it would self-correct once we jumped on it a bit. And I can confirm after less than 400 jumps it is perfectly centered.

So don’t be alarmed if you notice this right when you finish the install.

5. The Support Bar

I did buy the version of this BCAN rebounder with the support bar, but to keep this fairly low profile in our home I’m gonna start out with no support bar. If it ends up I get super into doing full workouts on this thing and I need the upport bar I’m not at all worried about figuring out the assembly. It looks super straightforward.

The Verdict: Was It Easy to Assemble?

When comparing this rebounder to the difficulty of assembling IKEA furniture (which I’d rate as a 7/10), I’d give this rebounder a 1/10. The video guide had no audio, which made it a little challenging, but rewatching a few times, I could follow along easily. For anyone who finds themselves getting frustrated with complicated setups, you can rest easy—this rebounder doesn’t fit into that category.

One Month Later: The Rebounder in Action

You can read my honest review of this BCAN rebounder right here. I’ve been using it almost every day and I’m excited to share some insights with you.

Overall, if you're considering adding a rebounder to your fitness collection, this model is about as easy of a set up as it gets.
